@lzael maNGAP....!!

3 Reason

THREE REASONS WHY I AM A MOSLEM

As we know, there are many religions in Indonesia such as Islam, Buddha, Hindu, Christen Protestant, Catholic, and Kong Hu Chu. My religion is Islam, so I am a Moslem. There are three reasons why I am a Moslem. First, I live around Moslems. Second, I am just learning about Islam. Third, I believe that Islam will guide me to the true way of life.

Family is more influent in someone life. “Like a son, like a father”, this statement explains that a child will do and has characteristic as his father or family. My father and my mother are Moslems. Since I was child, they always explained to me that Islam is the true religion even though I did not know what a religion was. Therefore, I followed their religion.

After I was a seven old, I went to elementary school (SD). There, I didn’t studied general lessons at all, but also religion lesson (Islam). I also studied Islam in Madrasah Diniyah, Langgar and Mosque. All of my teachers always explained about the truth of Islam, such as Al-Quran, Hadis etc.

I am still studying Islam right now. I am following the rule of Islam as long as I can because Islam is never force Moslem to do the impossible thing. I have believed that Allah is The One. He has no father or son. Everything in creation was begun by him. He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. I believe that Islam is true religion. Allah said in Al-Quran:

إن الدين عند الله الإسلام

In my conclusion, I believe that Islam will save me in the world and the beyond.

About Agung

ABOUT AGUNG

I had a friend. His name was M. Agung Hidayatullah. He came from Bojonegoro. His birthday was the 25th of July. He was simple man and friendly. His friends like him, especially I am. I knew him since first semester. Since I knew him, he was never naughty so that every lecture praised him. Therefore, his life was peaceful. Last week, he gave me his curriculum vitae. He told me that the interesting events in his life were visiting Wali Songo graves, getting ID card and driver’s license, and registering to be participant of MTQ in Blitar.

Agung had cousin working in Kalimantan. His cousin was success man. So, he wanted to make a ceremonial meal. To express his ceremonial meal, he invited his family to pilgrimage to Wali Songo’s graves after Idul Fitri 1420 H. (the celebration at the end of the fasting month). At that tour, Gung-Gung (Agung’s call name) felt that the journey was challenging. He never imagined that he would surround Java before. He had to climb a mountain to arrive one of Wali Songo’s graves. He must bring thin plastic bag (kresek) in order to not lose his sandal which would be exchanged. He said “there were many pilgrims; I worried my sandal would be exchanged with the other”.

Coincided with General Election 2004, he got ID card and driver’s license. He expected those before. Therefore, he was happy after getting those. “I always hope to get ID card and driver’s license, because I want to be a participant in General Election 2004”, he told me. Now that he had a driver’s license, he could go anywhere using motorcycle, needless worry about police’s interrogation.

Now, he will join the contest of Koranic recitation or MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an). Two weeks ago, he was selected to have list in Blitar. When he registered, he felt so nervous. He was not sure that he will be a winner because the participants were the best recitations (qurra’) from East Java. “However,” I suggested, “you have to keep your spirit. You have to try and be the best. It is still process. Whoever wants to be the best but not all wants to get a process”.

If you have a friend as Agung, I am sure you will be comfortable. He is smart boy, obedient, and gratify. Do not be friend with bad boys, impolite boys and lazy boys because tomorrow you will have a character as them.
